From the year 2000, 4th February has become the important date in the medical domain – luring attention of people from across the world. The day 4th February of every year is celebrated as “World Cancer Day” – an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control or UICC. It is a registered non-profit association and donations – deducted from taxes in select countries. The date was decided to be the World-Cancer Day in the year 2000 at the World Summit against Cancer for the New Millennium in Paris. The date was finalized to raise worldwide awareness and to improve education along with catalyzing personal, collective, and government action.
- 4th Feb is the World Cancer Day – a concern grown in year 2000 to increase awareness and make people informed about the early signs, how to protect and what the treatment options are.
- According to available data, millions of death occurs due to cancer. In India, there are varied reasons and types of cancer that are causing deaths mainly due to having no proper information, education, lack of sources to make people aware, treatment cost and varied other reasons.
- However, Government has been trying to make people aware and offering free treatment too. It will be better to make people aware and encourage them to move on the healthy diet and a change in lifestyle.
