The winner of the league is decided by the IPL final, which takes place at the end of the campaign. At the end of the league phase, the top four teams on the table progress to the playoffs. In Qualifier 1, the top two teams square off; the victor moves directly to the IPL title game.

The third- and fourth-place teams compete in the Eliminator, where the winning team faces the losers of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2. The champion from Qualifier 2 advances to the finals. Because this method gives them two chances to reach the final, the clubs seek to qualify for the IPL playoffs in the top two spots.

The first quarter final, which will take place on May 23, 2023 in Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, has already been qualified for by GT and CSK. At 7:30 PM, the game is scheduled to start. The losing club will play the semifinal match against the winner of the Eliminator game, while the victor of the GT vs. CSK match in Q1 progresses directly to the IPL 2023 finals.

RCB's chances of winning the IPL Title were once again destroyed by the result of the game between RCB and GT as they were unable to make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, MI has made it through to the Eliminator, giving them a good chance to win the championship once more. On May 24th, 2023, LSG and MI will play each other in the Eliminator game at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.
