The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai hosted the first Quarter Final of IPL 2023, featuring a thrilling match-up between Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings. GT won the toss and chose to bowl first. CSK put up a formidable score of 172 runs in their allotted 20 overs while losing 7 wickets. Although GT gave it their all, they couldn't chase down the target and lost to CSK by a margin of 15 runs in today's match.

With this, CSK advances to the IPL 2023 finals on 28th May 2023. GT will have to play the semifinals against the winner of Eliminator match on 26th May 2023. 

CSK made an impressive start to their inning, scoring 49 runs without any wicket loss in the powerplay. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway formed a solid partnership, with Ruturaj contributing 60 runs off 44 balls, which included seven boundaries and a sixer before heading back to the pavilion. Conway also played well, scoring 40 runs off 34 balls. The bowling team put up a good fight with GT Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma taking two wickets each while Darshan Nalkande, Rashid Khan, and Noor Ahmed claimed one wicket each.

GT had a rough start to their inning while chasing 173 runs. During the powerplay, they were only able to score 41 runs and lost two wickets, including Saha and Hardik Pandya. Despite this setback, Shubman Gill showed some promising performance by scoring 42 runs off 38 balls with four boundaries and one sixer in today's match for GT. CSK bowlers bowled out the whole Team of GT in 20 overs of the match.

Brief History of GT and CSK Teams 
CSK is owned by India Cements Limited and was established in 2008. CSK has won the IPL Title four times in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. With this achievement, it has become the second most successful team in the IPL. In contrast, Gujarat Titans, which is owned by CVC Capital Partners, was founded in 2021. They managed to win the IPL Title in their debut season in 2022.
