WPL 2023 15th Match Highlights: MI-W vs UPW-W; MI winning legacy breakdown by UPW

 

The 15th Match played between Mumbai Indians vs UP Warriorz at DY Patil Stadium won by UPW by defeating MI by 5 wickets. UP Warriorz in today’s match put a pause on the continuous winning legacy of Mumbai Indians in this season of WPL. Before this, MI never lost any of the five matches they have played.

UPW won their third match in this series. With this, they have made their strong position to enter into the Playoffs. The team is standing at 3rd position on the points table with 6 points.

In today’s match UPW won the toss and opted to field first. MI while batting first scored 127 runs in 20 overs. Healy Matthews scored 35 runs including 3 sixers while Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 25 runs. In return, UPW captured the target in 19.3 overs by losing 5 wickets.

UPW’s Sophie Ecclestone took 3 wickets while Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad took 2-2 wickets each.

Chasing 129 runs, in the powerplay Team could score 27 runs. UPW top order did not perform well. Tahlia Mcgrath (38) and Grace Harris (39) played in a good partnership of 44 runs for 34 balls. Sophie Ecclestone last sixer helped the Team to achieve the target.
