New Zealand Women won the toss and elected to bat first. The team's openers made a 46-run partnership for the first wicket, followed by a 110-run partnership for the second wicket. Bates and Kerr played an excellent innings, scoring 56 and 66 runs, respectively. Kerr and Tahuhu took two wickets each, exhibiting great bowling skills. Sri Lankan Team was chasing a target of 162 and could only manage 60 runs. Athapaththu, the Sri Lankan captain, scored 19 runs in 21 balls, but no other player could cross the double-digit score.
