Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Highlights: INDW vs ENGW; India lost to England by 11 runs

The 14th match of the ICC Women's World Cup 2023 was played between India vs England at St George's Park, Gqeberha.

Indian Women won the toss and invited England to bat first. Renuka Singh dismissed England's explosive opener Wyatt in the very first over on a score of 0 run and got his team off to a good start.

Capsey, who came on the field after Wyatt's wicket was also dismissed by Renuka Singh for just 3 runs. The start of the England Team was not good and they lost 3 wickets for just 30 runs in the first 5 overs.

Nat Sciver and Captain H Knight added 51 runs for the fourth wicket. Nat Sciver batting well scored 50 runs in 42 balls and Captain Knight playing with him scored 28 runs in 23 balls. 

England's wicketkeeper Jones also played a good inning, scoring 40 runs in 27 balls and taking her Team's score to 151. 

India's star bowler Renuka Singh took five wickets for just 15 runs in her 4 overs.  While supporting her, Shikha Pandey took one wicket and Deepti Sharma took one wicket.

Chasing 151 runs, the Indian Team lost their first wicket in the form of Shafali Verma for 29 runs.

Mandhana and Rodrigues added 28 runs for the second wicket. Captain Harmanpreet also lost her wicket early after the Rodrigues. 

Mandhana while a good innings added 52 runs in 41 balls and shared a good partnership of 53 runs with wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh for the fourth wicket. Richa Ghosh hit a good stock and scored 47 runs in 34 balls. 

But it was not enough to secure the day and they lost the match by 11 runs. Nat Sciver Brunt, who scored 50 for England was adjudged player of the match.
