Today, the sixth match of the World Cup was played between England & Ireland at the Boland Park in Paarl. Ireland won the toss and chose to bat. The Ireland's team was piled on just 105 runs. While Ireland's opener got Ireland off to a very good start, they were 0 for 35 in the first 5 overs which was a decent start.
The opener of Ireland Lewis played a fine innings of 36 off 37 balls. No batsman could even cross the score of 10 after the dismissal of Lewis.
England bowlers Sarah Glenn and Ecclestone took 3 wickets each and playing very well with them, Charlotte Dean took 2 wickets and Bell & Katherine Sciver took one wicket each. Ireland soon was all out by making only 105 runs in 18.2 overs.
The first wicket of the England team fell quickly. After the fall of the first wicket, Alice Capsey came on the field, who scored 50 runs in just 22 balls, the fastest fifty of this World Cup. Wyatt and Capsey added 64 runs for the second wicket.
England easily won the match by 4 wickets. Capsey played a very good innings for which she was given man of the match.
