Strength of RR
RR were runner-up in IPL’s 2022 season. They were the strongest franchise in IPL 2022 in terms of batting and bowling. Most of the retained players are in good form. Their batting line-up is strong which is a combination of fierce openers, dominant middle order and powerful finishers.
Bowling strength is also in the good shape of the Team. The duo of Krishna-Boult and tricky duo of Chahal-Ashwin is outstanding.
RR seems to be a well established and settled Team, there is no reason that the Team couldn’t make an impact in the upcoming season.
Weakness of RR
Although there is no noteworthy weakness in the Team that should be given a thought upon but their squad lacks backup options.
Performance History of RR
Rajasthan Royals was founded in 2008 in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. RR won the IPL Title in the inaugural season itself under the captaincy of Shane Warne. The Royals are known to unearth obscure, high potential talent, as well as for their involvement in a number of controversies and scandals.
In 2010, RR faced the expulsion from BCCI but after the two parties seek the judgement from Mumbai High Court, BCCI decided not to pursue further legal action against the Rajasthan Royals or Kings XI Punjab – the teams were allowed to remain in the IPL.
In 2015, RR became the source of controversy when inappropriate and fictitious bids were made, violating BCCI norms. As a result, the Team was banned from the IPL for the next two years.
