The second One Day match was held at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Australia won the toss and chose to field first. Team India managed to score 117 runs in 26 overs. However, the Australian team easily achieved the target in just 11 overs without losing any wickets. Mitchell Starc performed exceptionally well, taking 5 wickets and earning the title of Man of the Match.
The Indian batters struggled to perform against the formidable Starc and pacers of the Australian team. They lost four wickets, including those of Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and KL Rahul, during the powerplay. At that point, the team had only scored 48 runs in 8.4 overs. In the 26th over, Starc took the wicket of Mohammed Siraj, and India's innings came to an end. This was the ninth time that Starc had taken five wickets in his One Day Career. Abbott and Lyon also chipped in with three and two wickets, respectively. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head, the Australian openers, played an impressive innings and managed to achieve the target of scoring 121 runs in just 66 balls.
