Day 5
Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Team India became the first Asian Team to beat Australia in four consecutive Test Series. Not only this, but also India has won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy sixth time in homeland.
Australia declared their second innings at 175/2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Seeing no result, both the captains announced the end of the match with mutual consent an hour before. Then Marnus Labuschagne returned unbeaten on 63 and Steve Smith on 10. This is Labuschagne 15th Test and first half-century in India.
Earlier, Australia scored a strong score of 480 runs after winning the toss and electing to bat. In response, the Indian team scored 571 runs and took a lead of 91 runs in the first innings. On Monday, the last day of the match, the Kangaroos led their second innings by 3/0.
Day 4
Today’s match was in the name of star batsman Kohli. Virat Kohli hit the 28th Test century and 75th International century by scoring 186 runs. With the contribution of Kohli’s performance, India total score in first innings lead to 571 for 9 wickets. Injured Shreyas Iyer did not come to bat.
Akshar Patel scored 79 runs and was bowled out by Mitchell Starc. Akshar hit the four sixers in the match and played in a good partnership with Virat. Tod Murphy took the wicket of Kohli.
Australian Team is lagging 80 runs from Indian Team now. At the end of 4th day, Australian openers Travis Head (3) and Matthew Kuhnemann (0) returned unbeaten to the pavilion.
Day 3
India played outstanding in today’s match. In the first innings, India scored 289 runs by losing 3 wickets. India needs 191 runs more to reach the target given by Australia for 480 runs. At the end of 3rd day of the test tournament, Kohli and Jadeja remain unbeaten with 59 and 16 runs respectively.
Shubman Gill, the rising star of Team India scored his 5th international century of the year. Gill scored 128 runs in total, he LBW out by Lyon.
Day 2
India scored 44 runs on day 2 without any wicket loss. Captain Rohit Sharma totals to 17 and Shubman Gill to 18 runs. Both the Indian openers remain unbeaten.
Australia all out by scoring a total score of 480 runs in their first innings. Opener Usman Khawaja score the highest 180 runs while Cameron Green hit the first test century with a score of 114 runs.
Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin took the highest 6 wickets. Mohammed Shammi took 2 wickets while Akhsar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja took 1-1 wickets each.
Day 1
Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 4th Test Match Day 1 is played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat. Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Australia total score was 255 runs by losing 4 wickets. Batters of Australia performed well on the pitch of Ahmedabad while the bowling of India seems low.
Opener Khawaja hit the 14th century of test match career by scoring 104 runs and Cameron played the innings of 49 runs not out. Peter(17), Smith(38), labuschagneL(3) and Head(32) contributed to the score to the Team.
Mohammed Shami took 2 wickets while Jadeja and Ashwin took 1-1 wicket each.
Prime Minister gave Test Caps to the Captain
Before the toss Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Australian PM Anthony Albanese gave the Test Caps to Indian Captain Rohit Sharma and Australian Captain Steve Smith. Both the PM’s visit the stadium in the golf cart.
Tomorrow the tournament will start for day2 at 9.30 AM.
